Lamb Andrews
Lamb Andrews was a two-sport standout at Thomasville High School in football and track. A starting defensive end on the 1974 state and national championship team, as well as the 1975 squad, Andrews was named Defensive Player of the Year for THS in 1975. Pound for pound, he was considered one of the strongest players on his Bulldog teams. Following a successful high school career, Andrews was tabbed to participate in the 1976 North vs. South Georgia All-Star game.
Lamb earned a scholarship at Fort Valley State University, where he would go on to start at linebacker for his first three seasons. His senior season for the Wildcats in 1980 would see him moved to running back for the Wildcats, gaining nearly 800 yards and scoring three touchdowns. He would be chosen as a free agent by the Canadian Football League’s Ottawa Roughriders as a free agent in 1981 where he played running back.
While at Thomasville, Lamb was also a star on the track team. He was a state qualifier in the 100-yard dash as well as the 220 and 440 relay teams.
He has served as Pastor at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Macon for the last 28 years and retired from Trane Commercial Services in 2020. Lamb and his wife Geneva have three children, Cedric, Mikesha, and Lamb IV. He is a positive role model for the youth of our community.
