Sheddrick Wilson
Considered one of the all-time standout Thomasville Bulldog football players, Sheddrick Wilson was a Bulldog team captain his senior season (1991) where he was also named All-Region and All-State as wide receiver and punter. He represented the Bulldogs in the Georgia-Florida All-Star football game. A three-sport athlete, Wilson also played basketball for THS and was a two-year starter on the Bulldog baseball team where he played first base, centerfield, and pitcher.
His football prowess earned him a scholarship to LSU, where he became the 7th leading receiver in Tiger football history. Wilson started as a true freshman at LSU, playing in all 44 games during his time in Baton Rouge. He was named the Charles McLendon Team MVP in 1995 while leading the Tigers as team solo captain. Wilson would go on to play professionally for the Houston Oilers, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Barcelona Dragons in the World Football League, who won the league championship as he was chosen team captain and was named All-League receiver. His high school football coach George Bobo said this about him: “Sheddrick was and still is a special athlete as well as a special person of high character. He is a great role model and is what everyone would want their child to be like.”
