IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

New Date: Saturday, November 13, 2021

COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to increase in Thomas County. In consideration of the health & safety of participants, volunteers, and our local first responders, the 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb event has been rescheduled. Tentative plans are to hold the event on Saturday, November 13th, pending local health conditions. Anyone who is pre-registered will remain registered for the new event date. In the meantime, please join us in paying tribute to the fallen first responders in this, the 20th anniversary, of that tragic event. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask for your understanding.

Our community will convene at the Thomas County Jackets Nest Football Stadium to simulate climbing 110 stories as a tribute to the 343 Firefighters, 63 Police Officers, and 8 Emergency Medical Personnel who lost their lives. This is the deadliest incident for firefighters in the history of the United States. Each climber will carry the photograph and/or names of the fallen Firefighters, Police Officers, and EMS workers who gave the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

Cost: $20.00 pre-register to guarantee a t-shirt and 20th-anniversary challenge coin.

8:46 a.m. Moment of Silence - Observe Time 1st Plane Struck the North Tower
9:03 a.m. Moment of Silence - Observe Time 2nd Plane Struck the South Tower
9:07 a.m. Moment of Silence - Observe Time Fight 77 Struck the Pentagon
9:59 a.m. Moment of Silence - Observe Time of Fall of the South Tower
10:03 a.m. Moment of Silence - Observe Time of Crash of Flight 93
